Young police officers start leadership training in Jos –


Young police officers from all of the nation’s commands and formations have started a strategic leadership course at the Police Staff College in Jos, Plateau State.

College Commander, Deputy Inspector General of Police Donald N. Awunah, on Monday opened the participants to the “7/2021 Operational Leadership Command Course”.

The colorful ceremony saw young officers, from various police commands and formations across the country, begin a journey to improve their operational skills and provide them with modern techniques to face today’s security challenges.

Awunah, himself a seasoned police officer with both administrative and operational skills, greeted the young officers with words of encouragement.

As part of his remarks, he encouraged participants to take advantage of the program
because their framework represents an essential link in the realization of the principles of the maintenance of order in accordance with the best practices envisaged by the current direction of the force under the command of the inspector general of the police, Usman Alkali Baba.

Awunah reminded course participants that discipline is the foundation of strength and therefore are expected to be exemplary in their conduct for the duration of the course.

On this note, the Operational Leadership and Command Course 7/2021 was declared open and the Commander and his Leadership Team had a group photo with the participants.
