Jacob Wanger, Peter W.waste Ssuperintendent, and Nick Hericks, Superintendent of Stone Street, were among 18 utility professionals to earn his leadership certification in the LEAD course, a workshop presented by Missouri River Energy Services.
The LEAD course is synonymous with leadership, excellence and development. This is a high-level leadership training course focused on the essential skills, awareness and perspective that make a difference in the success of a leader in the municipal utility industry. To earn certification, graduates attended four two-day sessions throughout the year with courses covering communication, collaboration, change, accountability, and leadership practice.
“We are encouraged that our members place a high value on the training and ongoing education of their employees,” said Tom Heller, President and CEO of MRES. “This course helps current and future leaders set new standards of excellence for themselves and their local electric utility.”
MRES is a nonprofit Joint Action Agency that provides wholesale electric and energy service to 61 member municipalities in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. All MRES members own and operate local electrical distribution systems.
