PHILIPSBURG – Windward Islands Bank (WIB) began a partnership with Training Professionals International Firm (TPI) on March 29 to facilitate a training program for WIB managers titled “WIB Academy of Effective Managerial Leadership and People Development Excellence.”

WIB managers will participate in the accredited training academy over a period of six months and are expected to acquire the skills and knowledge to effectively manage and lead people, while simultaneously completing specific course assignments that will enable them to apply their learning.

Natasha Gittens of TPI, Lead Facilitator and Developer of WIB’s Custom Training Program, said WIB has always focused on developing employees at all levels of its organization. “As a bank that plays a central role in our community, it is imperative that it continues to carry the torch as an advocate for accredited training, managerial leadership and employee development, while fostering a culture synergistic team-oriented and customer-focused work. ”

TPI will provide WIB managers with courses that are essential for effective leadership on a global scale such as “John Maxwell’s Five Levels of Leadership”, “How to Handle Difficult Employees”, “Empathy and Building Trust”, “Delegation Skills for Leaders”, “Coaching for High Performance” and “Effective Communication and Self-Assessment in Leadership”. Managers will also be introduced to a range of global leadership methodologies, managerial strategies, best practices and key people management principles.

WIB’s Human Resources Manager, Sherry Anne McNamara-Casey, helped customize the content of the Academy. She said WIB continues to place great importance on the talent, abilities and expertise of its employees to perform and is committed to developing extraordinary employees through rigorous training.

“We are therefore both excited and excited to offer our managers this information-rich, high-level managerial and leadership training, as we believe that leadership and learning are indispensable to each other. … We encourage every manager to learn as if you are not reaching your goal and as if you are afraid of missing it.

WIB chief executive Derek Downes kicked off the grand opening of sessions on March 30.
