@SDA Bocconi Leadership Course Begins Virtually for IIM-I Students

The virtual inauguration of the “Advanced Leadership Program at SDA Bocconi” for the one-year full-time Executive Graduate Program (EPGP) at IIM Indore took place on Friday.

The program is part of the EPGP’s International Immersion Module, which is conducted in collaboration with one of the top international business schools.

This year, this program is carried out in collaboration with SDA Bocconi.

The Director of IIM Indore, Professor Himanshu Rai inaugurated the program. Professor Saurabh Chandra, President – EPGP, and Professor Veronica Vecchi, Program Director, SDA Bocconi were also present online. A total of 57 participants take part in the programme, of which 9 travel to Italy.

In his address, Rai talked about the similarities between the mission and vision of IIM Indore and SDA Bocconi.

He noted that both institutions aim to create context-appropriate curricula and deliver world-class education.

“Similar to SDA Bocconi’s mission to drive professional and personal transformation to impact the future of individuals, organizations and society, we at IIM Indore are committed to developing leaders, managers and socially conscious entrepreneurs who acquire first-rate knowledge and use it to contribute to nation-building.This program aims to provide participants with an enriching learning experience and help them acquire skills that are perfectly suited to them in the context current,” he said.

He added that it would help them take initiatives that would bring about positive transformation in the world.

“All the subjects included in the program would allow students to acquire management and leadership knowledge and familiarize them with Italian culture,” he added.

The Director of IIM Indore said, “This time we have also introduced concentrations such as Italian Excellence – Roots, Culture, Crafts and Family Business; and Sports Management in Europe. This will expose participants to a different set of culture, work ethic, and management practices.”

“In addition, topics such as innovation in management, decision-making in times of uncertainty, environmental change and discontinuities, entrepreneurship and family business management, and design thinking will enable participants to understand the substance of these areas,” he added.

Chandra noted that the program is designed to educate participants about the increasingly globalized economic environment and issues in the global economy and enable them to understand and compare businesses from emerging and developed economies. “The international immersion creates an ideal platform for participants to learn about global trade and expand their knowledge of various aspects of the rapid globalization of economies,” he said.

“The program incorporates the latest industry trends, including climate finance, the institution of the European Union, public-private collaborations to achieve the SDGs, sustainability and luxury management,” he said. he adds.
