Over 270 URA staff complete month-long leadership course at Kyankwanzi



A total of 272 Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) supervisors completed a month-long transformational leadership program at the National Institute of Leadership – Kyankwanzi.

The supervisors passed out on Friday 08 October 2021 in a ceremony presided over by Minister of State for Finance for General Duties Henry Musasizi and honored by URA Commissioner General John Musinguzi Rujoki.

Mr. Musasizi tasked URA supervisors with leading their teams in Uganda’s quest for economic independence.

“We now have a new target to collect 20% of the tax to GDP ratio by 2024/25. I therefore urge you, as tactical leaders of the URA, to ensure that all initiatives to achieve the new objectives are implemented effectively and efficiently,” he said.

Mr. Musinguzi also said he asked the fainted team to work with integrity, dedication and commitment in tax collection.

“I am thrilled and bless the Lord as today we mark the passing of our critical team of tactical leaders who have successfully completed the Transformational Leadership Program,” he said.

During the training, URA staff were introduced to the core values ​​of public service, namely; integrity, accountability and transparency.

They were addressed by various speakers, including Edith Nakalema of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit.

URA supervisors donated a 10,000 liter tank on Thursday to help collect water at the institute.
