Newly elected mayors from Pampanga attended the Department of Home Affairs and Local Government (DILG) three-day orientation seminar to prepare local leaders for effective local governance at the Royce Hotel in Clark Freeport.
Mayors of Pampanga completed the NEO orientation course titled: First Leaders for Renewed Local Governance designed for re-elected municipal mayors from Region III.
In order to support the LGUs and their elected leaders, the DILG, through the Local Government Academy (LGA), organized the Program for Re-elected Officials (NEO).
The program provides harmonized and holistic capacity development interventions to support re-elected Local Chief Executives (LEs) to continue their practice of good governance for excellent service delivery to their constituents.
Highlights of the NEO orientation course include review of key features of the local government code and key duties, responsibilities, responsibilities and attributes of good local governance
It also covers identifying new approaches and tools to improve adaptability and resilience and revitalize the economy while navigating the COVID-19 era and ever-changing times.
The final program is the adaptation of a set of leadership skills to advance transformational and strategic actions aimed at improving management systems, structures and processes for the efficient and equitable delivery of public goods and services.
