Mangaluru, November 1: St Agnes PU College, Mangaluru held a “leadership training” on October 30 for all student leaders from I and II PUC. Members of the student cabinet, all class stewards and deputy class stewards actively participated in this event. Elson D’Souza, Assistant Professor at St Agnes College (Self-Employed), Mangaluru was the resource person and students were enlightened with creative thinking and conflict management skills to be a role model as a leader.
A brief description of how to be successful and achieve a goal has been provided. The speaker highlighted the differences between a leader and a boss. Topics such as decision making were discussed. Real-life situations and activities were also identified as examples of the topics covered so that they could be easily assimilated by the students.
Some fun games were organized where the students were divided into groups of four. Action songs were taught to the students in order to keep the flame of enthusiasm alight.
The session ended with the speaker motivating the students to read more motivational stories, never give up in life and tear off the word “I CANNOT” with “I CAN” and he wished everyone good luck students with all future endeavors.
The resource person was greeted and introduced to the gathering by Carol Lobo, Department of Mathematics. Student secretary Alice Lobo moved a vote of thanks.
