WASHINGTON DC – Murphy Monk, president of the Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce, recently completed her second year at the Institute for Organization Management, a four-year nonprofit leadership training program at the Southeast Institute in Athens, Georgia.

Since its inception in 1921, the Institute’s program has trained tens of thousands of leaders of associations, chambers, and other nonprofit organizations on how to build stronger organizations, better serve their members and become strong business advocates. The Institute’s program consists of four one-week sessions at four different universities across the country. Through a combination of required and elective courses in areas such as leadership, advocacy, marketing, finance and membership, Institute participants are able to enhance their own organizational management skills and add new fuel to their organizations, making them more efficient.
