FBLA members receive leadership training | News

Members of Chestnut Ridge High School’s Future Business Leaders of America continue to seek leadership training opportunities.

Last fall, members attended the Pennsylvania State Leadership Workshop held at the Poconos Kalahari.

Members completed a two-day leadership training with Tri-Leadership.

Leadership training covered entrepreneurship, communication, job skills, fundraising techniques, personality traits, job readiness and job compatibility.

Also at the conference, Chapter members participated in the Battle of the Chapters – a question-and-answer contest covering aspects of FBLA business, history and current affairs.

The chapter team of Evan Shaffer, Kaitlyn Herman and Hailey Miller took second place in a group of over 600 participants.

Members of the FBLA’s Chestnut Ridge Chapter toured the “backside” of the Kalahari Resort in the Poconos as part of the State Leadership Workshop.

The members were able to discover behind the scenes of the operation of the water park. The opportunity allowed them to see the side of business that most people never get to see, organizers said.

FBLA members will continue their leadership training in April when they attend the Pennsylvania FBLA State Leadership Conference.
