Elliott completed leadership course at UNC | Characteristics

HENDERSON – Councilor Melissa Elliott has successfully completed the Advanced Leadership Corps training offered each year to selected local officials by the UNC Chapel Hill School of Government.

ALC is an intensive leadership development program designed by the school’s Center for Public Leadership and Governance. The week-long residential program helps participants discover their own leadership styles, inspire others to work towards a common vision, and better understand how to work together to build better relationships and achieve far-reaching results.

More than 140 elected officials from across North Carolina have followed this selective program since its inception.

“As a leader, I am a lifelong learner, a servant, and I always want to be teachable for effective leadership,” Elliott said.

Grants from Prudential Financial allow elected officials statewide to attend at a modest cost to the local government unit.
