David Steele Receives Award for League of North Dakota Towns Leadership Training Program – Jamestown Sun

Jamestown City Council member David Steele received the League of North Dakota Cities Leadership Training Program Innovator Award at the League’s April 21 Spring Workshop.

“It’s a great honor for a city official,” said Chelsey Benson, training services and communications manager for the North Dakota League of Cities. “Every city can be proud of the accomplishments of these individuals and will reap the benefits of having a municipal leader so committed to the future of the community.”

The program recognizes municipal leaders for their dedication, time and commitment to making their communities better places to live. Recipients receive credits in the Leadership Training Program (LTP) by attending conferences and training events sponsored by the North Dakota League of Cities.

Twenty LTP participants were recognized for achieving the first tier or Innovator Award (30 hours of training), 10 City Leaders achieved the Visionary Award (60 hours of training), seven individuals achieved the Leader Award (100 hours of training) and one person has reached the “110%” price which requires 200 hours of training.

The League of North Dakota Cities provides service, advocacy, leadership, education and support to the 357 incorporated cities of North Dakota. The leadership training program is the cornerstone of the League’s commitment to providing elected municipal officials with the tools they need to govern effectively.
