AHLEI Launches Online Leadership Course for Hospitality Managers


Hospitality operations depend on their employees to provide service that keeps customers coming back. Their success depends on having managers with strong leadership skills who can inspire and motivate employees to pursue the goals of their property.

This is why the American Institute of Hospitality and Hospitality Education (AHLEI), a brand of the National Restaurant Association, has launched a new leadership program focused on hospitality training and professional development. Head of Hospitality: Leadership, the first course in AHLEI’s new online management training suite, shows managers how to develop their leadership skills to create a positive work culture, align operations with organizational goals, and use emotional intelligence to connect with the employees.

“Our goal is to help hospitality companies build high-performing teams and run profitable properties by providing industry-specific training for career growth and professional development,” said Sherman L. Brown, executive vice president of training and certification for the National Restaurant Association.

Without proper training, hospitality managers may lack the skills to communicate, motivate, and build effective relationships with their teams, which can create a hostile workplace, reduce job satisfaction, and increase turnover.

AHLEI’s program was designed with the unique needs of hospitality managers in mind. The course includes:

  • Onboarding scenarios for learners to relate to course content
  • Media-rich interactive presentation that keeps learners engaged
  • Targeted bite-sized modules that respect your employees’ schedules
  • Scalable online delivery that lets you deliver training at scale to current and potential managers
