TAMPA, Florida., June 27, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County (ELCHC) has received funding for Workforce Initiatives for Early Childhood Educators as part of the COVID-19 Emergency Financial Relief. The funding was to respond directly to the loss of staff due to classroom or center closures related to COVID-19.
The Coalition for Early Learning Hillsborough applied $1.2 million funding received to directly upgrade the skills of current early childhood education professionals. After a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) process, ELCHC has partnered with the Business & Leadership Institute for Early Learning (BLI) to offer industry-specific courses with the goal of building and sustaining a business financially. that provides high quality early learning. From March to June 2022, ninety-two professionals worked directly with BLI President and Founder Robyn Perlman, her associates Kelly Townsend and Pierre Frampton and followed 15 hours of master classes and coaching. Perlman said, “With these skills learned, participants are better able to incubate new ideas and execute performance-based business strategies with ambitious goals for the children they serve.”

Gillette said, “We believe this investment in our suppliers will have positive impacts on the level of business and financial acumen of our supplier industry. The ELCHC is grateful to the state and federal governments for their support of learning early, in which they identified the impacts of COVID-19 on the industry and ensure that funding would be made available.
The 92 professionals will be celebrated at a graduation ceremony on June 28, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.
